JOB DESCRIPTIONIST:
Machinist – Tool Maker

BASIC PURPOSE: To manufacture components in accordance to prints or documented specifications.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

1. Machining of every job as accurately as possible
2. Use safe work practices and keep immediate work area clean
3. Maintain all machines as required. Advise Supervisor of any broken parts or hazardous conditions
4. Maintain an adequate supply of all items needed to perform the assigned work, (end mills, inserts, steel, etc.) and notify the Supervisor of any supplies needed for purchase.
5. Advise immediate Supervisor of any print errors.
6. Assure all measuring tools are calibrated properly
7. Complete all machining operations per blue print and verbal instructions (cut-off, mill, drill, EDM, WEDM, grind, wet grind, etc)
8. Expedite job to next work station according to schedule

SECONDARY DUTIES:
1. Advise immediate supervisor of any conditions that prohibit the proper performance of primary duties.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

1. Position reports to the Tool Room Supervisor
2. Position also interfaces with the Engineering Dept.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Proficiency in written and verbal communication
2. Proficiency in mathematics is required in general tool room practice
3. Experience/ability to operate assigned tool room equipment properly
4. Experience/ability to read and use measuring tools.
5. Experience or ability using specific machine tools relative to the job task
