Maintenance Mechanic

JOB DESCRIPTION

OVERVIEW

 

Provides preventative maintenance and repair services for production and facility equipment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Independently troubleshoot problems and complete corrective mechanical actions.
  • Perform necessary periodic maintenance on machines as required.
  • Determine if machine parts can be repaired or replaced.
  • Assist and advise outside contractors on any work to be completed.
  • Participate in team problem-solving as part of the departmental continuous improvement process.
  • Overhaul and install new equipment.
  • Accurate and thorough documentation of all work performed using maintenance system and/or technical reports.
  • Utilize a variety of machines and hand tools used for adjusting, fabricating, fitting, and checking production equipment for repair and/or replacement.
  • Attend all safety meetings, report any safety incidents/accidents, and understand and follow all Company and Plant Safety policies and procedures.
  • Examines, tests, and measures products from assigned equipment for quality specifications, using gauges and instruments.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in a mechanic capacity in a manufacturing environment
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to do repetitive bending and stretching.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with good problem-solving and analysis skills.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • 3D CAD modeling software experience a plus
  • Proficient in computer applications and software.
  • Experience with MRP systems such as Oracle or SAP preferred.
